HMA Doubles Down on Total Quality Management

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a continuous effort of systematic analysis and improvement.  HMA made a large investment in TQM and regulatory compliance last year with the hiring of Lisa Blanchard (nee Carter). Already, Lisa has made great contributions to HMA and its clients in relation to quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and business development.

In continuing with its TQM and regulatory compliance initiatives, HMA has consolidated two departments to form the Compliance and Oversight Department. This department is headed up by Lisa Blanchard and Heather Huber and reports to the Chairman. The Compliance and Oversight Department will be focused on compliance and oversight, to include, quality, regulatory, project management, business development and continuous improvement.

Lisa achieved her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and counseling studies and has more than 12 years experience in quality and regulatory compliance and is an experienced Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Manager, with progressive experience utilizing technologies and methodologies to achieve profitability and accountability. In addition, Lisa is a qualified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, 13485, 17025 and TS16949), with a proven track record of success in highly regulated environments, both US and international.

Heather has more than 15 years experience in the industry, from self insured to government programs.  Heather is well versed in all aspects of plan design, fee schedule administration, and claims operations.  Heather has also provided consulting services to internal and external clients.  Heather has a strong background with continuous improvement initiatives.

The addition of these resources strengthens HMA’s commitment to TQM and regulatory compliance and will allow for greater reach of the quality program.  We are excited to expand our scope and bring the very best to the community.
