Diet & Nutrition Overview

Diet and nutrition play a key role in keeping you healthy for many years to come!

Food should be your first source of nutrients, which includes all food groups (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, low-fat dairy, nuts, seeds, beans and healthy fats). Eating a balanced diet is the best way to get the vitamins and minerals your body needs.

If you are not eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep or exercising regularly, you may not have good energy levels. You may also have trouble fending off illness.  Dietary supplements may be necessary for an additional nutrient boost.  It is important, though, to talk to your doctor before taking any supplements to know the safety and usefulness of each supplement before deciding which ones are right for you.
